Tournament Format

Round-robin

Maximum 20 teams, 4 divisions.

5 round-robin games each of 16-min single periods.

Equal score at the end of regulation results in a tie (1 point) for both teams.

Total of 16 teams qualify for the playoffs.

Top team in each division take the top 4 seedings; remaining teams ranked as per final standings.

Playoffs

Preliminary round - 16-min game (+ 5-min 3-on-3 sudden death overtime + shootout)

Quarterfinals - 18-min game  (+ 5-min 3-on-3 sudden death overtime + shootout)

Semifinals - 18-min game  (+ 5-min 3-on-3 sudden death overtime + shootout)

Finals - 20-min game consisting of 2 periods of 10-min each  (+ 5-min 4-on-4 sudden death overtime + 5-min 3-on-3 sudden death overtime + shootout)
